We appreciate that it is an old hotel so expect the rooms to reflect that. The experience would be better if there was attention to small details like ensuring there is sufficient toilet paper in the room (we had to ask and the response was very flat to be honest). We could think of a number of small things that if they were present would make the world of difference.

The staff was so accommodating! We ended up needing an extra night so we booked via a different website and the staff combined our two reservations and even switched us rooms when a fan wasn’t working to an upgraded view! We were so extremely comfortable and it was the perfect location right in main Devonport a one minute walk to the ferry which we took everyday downtown.

Could Be Better

This place has the potential to be a fantastic spot if some money was spent. For example, cooling system/air conditioning or fans that don’t sound like a truck, a shower that has consistent water temperature, a place that serves morning coffee or breakfast, better cleaning, and curtains that aren’t torn and old, and when the one window is open if there is a wind there is a banging noise. The location is perfect but the hotel not so much.
