Summary:
Set above Hekerua Bay with wide sea views and a calm coastal feel, Hekerua Bay Retreat is a relaxed, spacious home made for families and friends. With a large deck, open living spaces, and an easy connection to Palm Beach, it’s designed for long, simple island days.
The Space:
erched above native bush with long views across Hekerua Bay, this light-filled home feels calm from the moment you step inside. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area moves easily out to the large deck, where outdoor dining, a BBQ, and comfortable seating create a space made for slow mornings, shared meals, and evenings when the sky turns pink over the water.
The layout works beautifully for families and friends. The master bedroom has a king bed and its own ensuite, positioned to catch the morning light. Upstairs, a second bedroom offers a split-king that can be made into twins. Downstairs, another king room sits quietly away from the main living space, and the bunk room with a double bed on the bottom and a single above giving kids or teens their own place to retreat after a day at the beach. Two-and-a-half bathrooms make it easy for everyone to spread out, shower off, and settle in.
Throughout the home, windows frame the bush and sea beyond, filling each room with soft coastal light. It’s a relaxed, generous space designed for togetherness — cooking, resting, and drifting between the deck and the living room as the island sets the pace.
Please note: With stairs connecting multiple levels, the property may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.

It’s around a ten-minute walk down to Palm Beach, where mornings start with a swim, a paddleboard session, or a coffee from the Palm Beach Store. Arcadia Waiheke is just up the road, a relaxed local spot known for good food, friendly faces, and long lunches on their sunlit deck.
Oneroa Village is only a few minutes by car and brings together the island’s cafés, eateries, and easy evening options. Whether you’re after brunch with a sea view at Obee’s, fresh pasta at Fenice, or oysters and coastal dishes at Josh Emett’s Oyster Inn, everything feels close and effortless.
You’re also surrounded by Waiheke’s best vineyards. Mudbrick, Cable Bay, Tantalus Estate, Stonyridge, and Casita Miro are all within easy reach, perfect for lingering afternoons among the vines before heading home to watch the bay settle into twilight.
It’s a neighbourhood that blends quiet coastal living with all the island essentials just minutes away, the kind of place where days unfold naturally and the island rhythm takes over.
