The cabin and location was perfect! It was clean, large parking area, lake view and quaint! My sister and I enjoyed the location and all the comforts of home thank you!
We would 100% recommend the Northwoods Resort! Very clean and up to date cabins, on the lake and close to Lake Superior! There is a detailed list of things to do in the area which was excellent! We will be coming back for sure!
The little cabin was very cozy! It was just my wife and I for one night but spent a good amount of time relaxing in the cabin by the fireplace. It is close enough to Munising for food as well as the Valley Spur ski trails. The cabin was clean and well decorated. Directions to the cabin were easy. There were only a few other guests on the property but we felt that we had privacy and hardly noticed anyone except the deer! We were blown away on the amount of deer that we could easily watch from the windows; it created great entertainment! The bed was comfortable and the cabin stayed warm during the cold winter night. We didn't do any cooking but the cabin has a great gas range and probably the best tasting well water I've ever had. We would certainly love to come back, Au Train is one of the most beautiful places in the country during summer time with lots to do.
Beautiful cabin, clean, comfortable, cozy. Nice area, close to everything. We loved Au Train beach. The water was so crystal clear. Kayaking Au Train is a must do. We went from the launch to Lake Superior and it took us 5 hours. We did use the outside shower at the laundry mat to wash off the sand but i would suggest an outside spigot at the cabin. We just hated the thought of tracking anything in the cabin so we used a water bucket at the door. We cant wait to return.
The cabin was really cozy and clean. Easy to find and close to Munising. Hosts were great at communicating and made everything easy. No complaints, we would definitely stay again.
Nice little cabin right across the street from the lake. Was great having a screened in porch. Lake was beautiful and kids loved paddle boarding around. Pretty shallow for a good distance. Loved the area and would stay here again. Only complaint and nothing property management can do so just an FYI for future travelers. This cabin is right on the road so there was a lot of traffic (some going way too fast) plus there is construction going on so several large trucks driving by early in the AM.
It was just okay. Would have been really nice except the toilet barely flushed and water backed up into the shower everytime you used it. Their was clearly sewage coming up from the shower drain and it looked and smelled terrible. When you turned the shower on it didn’t drain at all, and after about 10 minutes it was over flowing onto the bathroom floor. It would have been a really nice time except my husband throwing a fit over having to plunge the toilet followed by something brown (that looked and smelled like feces) coming up from the shower drain following the plunging.
Beautiful lake to stay on. Location is right on the road, but is quiet at night. Hosts were very easy going, and check in/check out was quick and easy.
Great place near Munising and pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Wanted to take a boat tour but the wind, cold and rain prevented it. But still toured landmarks and waterfalls and had fun at the Christmas casino and Muldoon ‘s Pasties. May have to try again next fall. Thanks
Great place to stay! Close to Munising and Water falls and picture rocks

Comfortable stay
My wife and I stayed here for five nights while we toured the U.P. in search of waterfalls. Each day included a lot of driving. It was very nice coming back to the cabin to relax after all the running we did. The cabin is very clean, remodeled in an authentic way to go with the surroundings. I couldn't of had a better nights sleep. The bed is better than any other places we've stayed that costed more. Erin & Jake were terrific host, very eager to accommodate us. They had info on all they attractions in the area. If we return to the area again, we will definitely stay there again!!!

The cabin is very cozy and clean! The cabin heats up quickly and stays warm! Would recommend!
My daughter and I rented this cabin as we came up in early October to see and hike Pictured Rocks! The first comment my daughter made was how clean the cabin was. Believe me....she looked over everything! The sofa bed is even pretty comfortable! The bath is small and tight as other commenters have shared....so a larger person would have some issues. However we understand this is not something that can be rectified. Just be aware of this. The wifi was pretty non existent...as we could not get access. Nonetheless....when you are up there....WiFi is not essential.
We would definitely recommend this cabin...and will most likely rent this particular cabin again!

Clean, quaint U.P. Cabin in serene setting
We much enjoyed our 3 night stay! We were in the area for a wedding in Marquette.
The cabin is clean and comfortable. The kitchen includes many items you’d need to prepare a meal, although we didn’t cook.
I would note, if you are a larger person, in any dimension- height or weight- you may have trouble in this bathroom. The toilet is very near the shower and wall and sink, which could be problematic if you have long legs or more girth around the middle. The shower itself is also close quarters. My husband and I are both on the smaller size of average, and we did fine.
We had a lovely SUP paddle on the peaceful Au Train lake and a ways down the river. And the Au Train beach on Lake Superior felt like our own private place.
Overall a great cabin to get away from it all!

Lovely
Overall we were quite pleased. The house is cozy, and served us well. My only wish is for slightly better water pressure in the shower.

Property was beautiful. Loved the cabin.
My wife and I spent four nights here on our honeymoon and we had an amazing time. The hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. The location is absolutely beautiful and is very close to trails and local waterfalls. Would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Great location but no frills
Great location but would have been nicer with a few extras like towels and better bed sheets. Shower is low flow. Across the street from the lake.
