My Home Away from Home in Athens – 10 Stars if I Could! Divani Palace Acropolis is hands down my go-to hotel whenever I’m in Athens. If I could give it 10 stars, I absolutely would. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth, elegance, and that unmistakable Greek hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home. The location is unbeatable — just steps from the Acropolis, Plaka, and all the must-see sights, yet tucked away enough to enjoy peace and quiet after a day of exploring. The views of the Parthenon from the rooftop restaurant are simply magical, especially at night. The rooms are beautifully appointed, always clean, comfortable, and spacious. I love the blend of classic luxury with modern touches. The service is consistently exceptional — friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile. Whether it’s the front desk, housekeeping, or the restaurant staff, everyone treats you like a valued guest. I also really appreciate the little details: the rich breakfast buffet, the serene atmosphere, and the overall attention to guest experience. Divani Palace Acropolis isn’t just a hotel — it’s part of what makes every trip to Athens so special for me. Highly, highly recommended. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

You are definitely paying for the location. With a name like “palace” I expected more for the price point. Room was good size but hadn’t been swept, bathroom was outdated and grimy, and bathroom door was so swollen with moisture it wouldn’t close, and when it did it wouldn’t open. Pool was not great, it’s small and shaded all day. I preferred the Divani Caravell across town. Rooftop restaurant was delish though.

This is the first time we went to a 5 Star hotel (so called 5 stars) that charge me for bringing ice cubes to our room for our drinks !!!! I thought it was the norm in Greece to pay for ice cubes delivered to our rooms? But then we were also in the 5 stars resorts in Mykonos, Santorini, Skapelos and the service was inpectable! The hotel in Santorini even brought us ice every 4 to 5 hours to keep our wine cold in the amazingly hot weather !!

The hotel was very expensive for what you get. It was a nice change from the air bb that I had to cancel and did not get a refund for, which I was very disappointed from air bb about. The room was comfortable but they pump some kind of air freshener perfume through the vents on lobby that go into the room. That was really terrible I called maintenance and they couldn’t figure out what to do So that caused my a lot of nasal congestion/allergies. The restaurant on 6th floor had a nice view of acropolis but I didn’t eat there

The best part of this hotel was the rooftop restaurant. It was spectacular. Otherwise, it was just an ok hotel. Parts of our room was old looking (bathrooms) and the breakfast buffet was mediocre. However, if you want just an average hotel this place is perfectly fine. And book your reservations for the rooftop dinner well in advance. It will not disappoint.

The hotel is wonderful! There are so many places to sit and relax and the bar had easy access to the pool, great food and drinks. The roof top restaurant had amazing views of the Acropolis and food was very delicious, especially the lamb chops!

Seams like it was very nice looking hotel about 15-20 years ago but now they need to do some renovations. Rooms are loud and need some sound proof cause you can hear everything next door. Very convenient location as it so close to Acropolis and they have great views from rooftop restaurant.

The listing shows a picture of the rooftop garden ammenity but we were not allowed upstairs to use the ammenity. We explained that we were hotel guests but the said it was booked for a private dinner. I never would have booked this hotel if we could not use the rooftop. They should have alerted us ahead of time. When we went to the concierge, they did nothing to help us. This is listed as a 5 star hotel, they should have comped us something.
