Overall experience is good, however public transport to Aso farmland is limited and not very convenient, if would be better if Aso farmland can provide regular shuttle bus to JR station

Not a very pleasant stay
The place showed its age, it is older than what we expected from the pictures. There are a lot of construction going on. We need to move our luggage from the car park which is some 15 mins., including some stone pavement which is hard for luggage wheels. Need to check-in after 4pm and check-out 10am which doesn't leave us much time to use the facilities. It is a bonus that breakfast and buffet dinner are included in the price.
We stayed in dream zone for 1 night, the domes are really lovely and attractive. The area is suitable for family with kids. Though many areas are under construction, I still recommend those with kids to go, I enjoyed the hot springs very much
The resort should not accept reservation given the extensive repairs ongoing. Most facilities are closed and dated.
Poor service and a nightmare carrying own luggages with 3 young kids on tow. The slopes and distance to the room was quite far, buggy service and porter service should be avail. The buffet dinner was probably rhe only positive during the stay.
We booked this in the middle of our tour of Kyushu for a fun few days for our toddler. The concept is great and the little dome houses fun. We enjoyed looking round them all. We went in golden week 2017 and it seemed the park was in the middle of a renovation. Some places were shut completely and there was a lot of building work underway. Not quite as appealing as we hoped.
For the price you get breakfast and evening meal. We didn't make breakfast but the evening meal was nice; a buffet with lots of choices. The onsen facilities are awesome. The best onsen I've experienced by far. We also did the Genki park and petting zoo.
The negatives were our room was a bit dated, it smelt quite fusty and the decor old. There was quite a bit of dust around the walls. The major negative was the cost. It's quite expensive to stay there anyway but we thought everything would be included in the price. But no, you get a voucher to use in one of the children's areas and 10% off the rest. There are 4-5 different play areas and of course the children want to do them all. They are very pricey (the zoo was ¥1600 for two adults) so to do everything would cost a lot of money. I would say this needs to be made more clear at the time of booking

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Aso Farm is still in bad condition, many renovation work around, and you have to pay for all extra activities!
Aso Farm Land is a strange, unique experience, really designed for families with young kids. The dome rooms are comfortable and spacious. The property itself was under construction in many areas, and had a feel of staying in a construction zone, with many areas unfinished, digger machines lying around, dirty with piles of items strewn around. The onsen hot springs area is beautiful, and very well designed, a highlight of the space. This is worth going to if only because it's so weird, like a Japanese Disneyland going bankrupt.
The location is a bit remote and the reception area is far from the parking space, we need to carry our luggage through two tunnels before we can reach the reception counter. But when we reach the dream zone, it's all worth it. The area is so amazing like scene in fairytale.
