Lower Berne Chalet 4 Mins to DT AVL, 10 Mins to Blue Ridge Parkway, Dog Friendly
Lower Berne has been renting for years on Vrbo with great reviews. We are the new property managers so limited on reviews currently. We are working on getting the past reviews added.
The Lower Berne Chalet is located on Beaucatcher Mountain surrounded by trees, near a variety of hiking trails for you and your pup to enjoy.
* Offers a king bedroom with a large closet & desk
* One full bath, a living room, and a well-appointed kitchen including all the conveniences of home.
* Enjoy the wooded view from the screened-in, furnished porch
* An adjacent private, fenced-in dog yard.
This is the lower level of the Full Berne duplex.
Berne Chalet is conveniently located:
* FIVE minutes to eclectic downtown Asheville, the South Slope, the River Arts District, the Blue Ridge Parkway, New Belgium Brewery, the Biltmore Estate, and much more.
* Parking for 1 car per unit. Pull straight in to park in front of unit.
* The right parking space is for the lower Berne
* There are 2 parking spaces in front of the chalet - note the left parking space is for the upper Berne.
* Additional vehicles will need to be parked along the split rail fence by the mailboxes (down the hill)
Need more space:
There is an upper level that offer two bedrooms if you are interested in renting the whole duplex chalet. Let us know and we can send you the link for the whole house. If the lower chalet is booked, be sure to check out the Upper Berne.
When Booking please list the number of people in your party and IF YOU ARE BRING A DOG. The pet fee will be added to your reservation.
Notes Please Read:
1. ALL mountain roads can be steep and dark at times. They may be daunting to an inexperienced mountain driver. The Berne Chalet is located in a quiet mountain subdivision on a circular one-lane road. Although it's a short road with street lights, it is tight, steep, and curvy. Please try to plan your arrival during the daytime if you are intimidated by mountain roads.
2. Downtown Asheville isn't far but we do recommend driving as it's a busy road.
3. Electric fireplace
4. No smoking, vaping, or candles.
5. Fenced-in pet yard (Accessible through lower-level, screened -in porch)
DOG RULES
A dog fee applies, plus all applicable taxes. One Dog with prior approval. The size and breed of your dog are needed to register them. Please note that you are bringing your dog when making your reservation.
1. No puppies - Dog must be at least ONE YEAR OLD
2. No attack or aggressive breeds of dogs are allowed
3. Must have all shots and flea treatments that are up to date
4. Must always be on a leash and under the control of the owner
5. Must NOT sleep on beds, couches, or chairs
6. You must clean up after your dog and do not flush poop down the toilet
7. A dog fee will be charged for the extra cleaning required
8. Sorry, no cats
We love dogs, and we are happy to host your well-behaved dog.
We are available during your stay to help out if needed because you are not just booking a home to stay in, but a southern mountain hospitality experience.
Thank you for considering staying with us! Darlene and Ron
Things to do in Asheville: Family Activities
Even though Asheville is known for its breweries, it is also known for many family-friendly activities.
1. Just five minutes from downtown is the Asheville Adventure Center, which is fun for the whole family with zip lines, ropes courses, and a bike park.
2. The Arboretum is a great place to take kids and adults for some easy hiking.
3. Baseball season, it’s always fun to take in a game at Babe Ruth’s favorite minor league field to see the Asheville Tourists play.
4. There is also the Asheville Pinball Museum, right downtown, and a pass is good for the entire day.
5. The WNC Nature Center features native plants and animals of the southern Appalachian Mountains, and features 60 species and 120 animals.
6. Navitat is an exciting zip line treetop canopy tour that is 25 minutes outside of downtown and is a true adventure.
7. Asheville is also a short drive to some of North Carolina’s ski slopes! In the winter, take a 35-minute drive to Wolf Ridge Ski resort, or a 45-minute drive to Cataloochee Ski Area for some skiing, snowboarding, or snow tubing.
Hiking
With four seasons, Asheville is a unique place to be able to hike year-round, and it is a popular activity for both locals and visitors.
Waterfalls
If you love to find waterfalls, the Asheville area is the place for you! There are literally hundreds of cascading falls in the “Land of the Waterfalls.”
Water Sports (rafting, kayaking & canoeing)
If you’re looking to spend an exciting day on a fast-flowing river, you will find the sheer power of a mountain river isn’t truly appreciated until it’s been experienced by kayak or whitewater raft.
*For a slower pace, float down the river on a tube trip or rent a SUP for the day.
* French Broad Outfitters is dog-friendly and rents kayaks, canoes, tubes, and SUP’s. * French Broad Adventures can provide the whole family with an array of outdoor activities, including rafting, ziplining, canyoneering, and biking. Zen tubing is also a favorite for a relaxing float down the French Broad.
* If you like lake life, the Asheville area has many recreational lakes to discover as well.
