We stayed at the hotel at the end of a trip across Germany and Belgium. It was by far the best hotel we stayed in. We ate in the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary one evening and then in the bar area other times. All the food (including breakfast) was first class and there are quite a few areas you can go and enjoy a drink after dinner. We also used the pool and jacuzzi which were both very well maintained and clean. But, the main thing for us, was the staff in the restaurant and bar. They were amazing, super-friendly, and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and we're always happy to give help and advice. An absolute credit to Hotel Van Der Valk, well done.

I really really liked my stay here. The hotel was very beautiful and the breakfast was wonderful and so good! The only reason I’m not giving it a 5 star review on the service for the people who worked there, is because when a mistake was done at the evening shift, they weren’t too helpful or apologetic about the mistake. It was fixed up when the morning/dayshift came in. They were very nice, apologetic and helpful. So I would love to come back again.

Absolutely beautiful art deco hotel with fantastic bar. The pool and spa area could have been exceptional but the pool was too cold. However the mattresses are too soft and move arpu d on the bed so i had to remake the bed several times a night.

Breakfast was excellent: wide selection amd fresh. Staff were generally friendly. The room was clean but housekeeping are a whole different story. They need to up the cleaning standard. For example, when making the bed and there are used towels left in the bed, the bed will be made with the towels inside! The housekeeping staff could not communicate with us as they were non-English speaking. We were stayed a whole week.
