The hotel was as described, located in a quiet area but close to everything. We stayed in a family room which was very spacious and had a beautiful bathroom. Having air conditioning in both rooms was great, and they were easy to operate. We ordered room service one afternoon—the food was delicious and the service was lovely. Our expectations for the wellness area were a bit higher than what it offered, but the pool was wonderful after long, hot days exploring the cities. The bar and restaurant were expensive, but the quality was high and the staff were very professional. The breakfast was excellent and lacked nothing.The beds were firm, which seems to be common in this part of Europe.

We stayed at the hotel at the end of a trip across Germany and Belgium. It was by far the best hotel we stayed in. We ate in the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary one evening and then in the bar area other times. All the food (including breakfast) was first class and there are quite a few areas you can go and enjoy a drink after dinner. We also used the pool and jacuzzi which were both very well maintained and clean. But, the main thing for us, was the staff in the restaurant and bar. They were amazing, super-friendly, and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and we're always happy to give help and advice. An absolute credit to Hotel Van Der Valk, well done.
