Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They collected our luggage and took it to our room, and were able to answer questions about the town and getting around. Breakfast was amazing every day! It was one of my favourite things about our stay. The choice was incredible and the food was delicious. The dining area has excellent views of the volcano too. The hotel is quiet, and a perfect location for exploring Antigua. Our friends were travelling with their baby, so Porta Hotel is definitely family friendly.

The only people who were truly kind and polite to us were the doormen, who were extremely friendly and attentive at all times. I really did not like this hotel and would not want to stay there again. The buffet doesn’t have many options, and I also didn’t like that the staff are the ones who serve the food, especially since, as I mentioned, they are not friendly.

The hotel is nice and decent, but there are some drawbacks. You can hear cars and motorcycles going by from the rooms, which makes it noisy. The TV has no English option, which is inconvenient for travelers. The front desk staff were helpful but not very friendly. The biggest issue was the private driver arranged by the hotel. It cost $60, and the ride felt unsafe. I would recommend using Uber instead — it’s cheaper and more reliable. Overall, a decent stay but with room for improvement. The massage at ceiba spa was great but not worth 350 dollars We got the couple ritual

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. My only complaint is it was listed on Expedia that there was a sauna inside the spa and you can only use this if receiving a treatment in spa. Poor advertising!

The property is beautiful, however the staff is not that friendly and the service is very slow. They seemed mad every time we tried to redeem the free drink or asked for late check out. I had to show them the perks offered. For this price range you can stay in a hotel with better service and whit better VIP perks.

The hotel is beautiful; a great contrast between the colonial style mixed with ruins and an exquisite comfort. The food “amazing”! All staff super kind and great service. Definitely will come back!
