The room was clean but the shower and sink took very long for water to go down. Staff didn’t explain things clearly and made the stay a little annoying. They need to explain the parking in & out a little better and the use of towels for the pool as well. Over all it wasn’t bad but just little things that will be annoying and avoided if it was just explained.

I recently stayed at Hotel Soleil Antigua, and unfortunately, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. While the property has potential, the experience was overshadowed by poor service and outdated facilities. The Location & Rooms The hotel is located on the edge of town, which makes it quite a walk to the main attractions and the center of Antigua. As for the rooms, they were "okay" but are definitely showing their age and are in desperate need of renovation. The biggest issue was the lack of infrastructure—there was only one electrical outlet in the entire room, which is honestly crazy by modern standards when you need to charge phones, cameras, and laptops. The Spa & Service We were looking forward to using the spa, but it was impossible to book. We went to check three separate times during our stay, and there was never anyone working there. It felt like a ghost town. Payment & Unexpected Policies The payment process was another major headache. I tried to pay in cash, but the staff insisted that US dollar bills be "perfect"—absolutely new with no marks, spots, or tiny tears. This is an incredibly frustrating and "crazy" requirement for a traveler to meet. Dining Issues To top it off, we had lunch at the on-site restaurant. We were promised a 20% discount, but when the bill arrived, they refused to honor it. Conclusion Between the inconvenient location, the outdated rooms, the lack of outlets, and the rigid/unhelpful service, there are much better options in Antigua.
