Great hostel. The staff is very friendly and made me feel welcome. Hostel location is convenient for walking into the city or taking the bus. It’s also very close to the beach. Continental breakfast is decent and the view from the breakfast area is great. The actual room is basic and a bit small and wifi only worked for me in the common area by the reception. For the price, it’s a great option to explore the beautiful town of Annecy and I would definitely stay there again.

Horrible! The accommodation is located on a hill somewhere with limited connectivity. Long, steep walk to the accommodation so be prepared. The facilities sucked. No WiFi in the rooms, no Air conditioning in 34 degrees Celsius weather.

This place was horrible. Trust the other bad reviews and do not stay here. It was dirty (there was hair all over the hostel room’s floor, there was mold in the shower, the shower was horrible, when I went to turn on the shower a swarm of flies flew into the room out of the drain (the shower is in the room), and it was stifling hot with no ventilation. I had a two night reservation but had to leave after the first night because it was so bad and gross and unclean.

This place was absolutely gorgeous, with its views over lake Annecy. It was nice and quiet, as most people were out hiking and biking during the day. The kitchen was clean, and I loved sitting out on the deck. There was a full breakfast, which had lots of great options and I was very happy with.The only bummers I had was that the shower had very little water pressure and didn’t stay on for very long. Also, there isn’t much for transit in that area, so be prepared to walk or bike. For the price, it was very worth it and I was happy. I would recommend it for others coming to stay.

I had about 10 nights left I had booked while looking for a job and place to live. I asked the manager if I could have a refund on the remaining nights. He said yes no problem but because I booked through Expedia I have to contact them to get the refund. So I contacted them immediately and they tried calling and emailing several times while they were right there in the office not 10 minutes later. But they didn’t answer until after I left town saying that I would not be getting the refund of the remaining nights after telling me in person, face to face, that it would be okay. Straight up lied to my face and then hid until I left town, ignoring calls and emails from Expedia until I had done so. Never staying in HI Annecy again (which I very much intended to on small holidays from chamonix) or any HI Hostel again.

I appreciated that the staff allowed me to store my luggage and also offered me a shower, which was helpful. However, overall the experience was very disappointing in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. The common shower area was not clean, and even the one in my room did not feel comfortable to use barefoot. It felt more like a poorly maintained shared space than a proper bathroom. The bed sheets appeared clean at first, but there were small hairs, which gave an impression of poor hygiene. The floor (including the hallway/étage) had a strong unpleasant smell and seemed affected by humidity and lack of maintenance. The floor in my room also did not feel clean. The building itself is very old and poorly maintained. While the location is beautiful, with a nice view and terrace, the condition of the property does not reflect that. Breakfast was included but very limited. Some staff interactions also felt quite strict, such as being told not to take more than one croissant. In my opinion, the place may be acceptable for a very short stay, but it is not comfortable or good value for more than one night. Unfortunately, I would not choose to book this accommodation again.

This hostel is very expensive for what it is. The location is wonderful, and the staff is very kind and helpful. But the facilities are in serious need of a renovation, and at €60 for dormitory bed, it is absurdly overpriced. If you book ahead, there are other hotels in the area for approximately the same cost, but you get a nice, private hotel room in the city of Annecy. I booked this hostel about 20 minutes before I arrived. If you book ahead, there are other far superior options for the costs. I do not recommend this hostel unless it is the last resort.

Séjour agréable et ensoleillé. Petit-dèj bien satisfaisant et à volonté inclus. Personnel disponible et courtois, y compris vigiles. L'eau au lavabo ne coule pas assez longtemps. Les gens ne tirent pas la chasse ; faut-il tout spécifier par une signalétique appropriée que ces gens ne sont pas tout seuls ? Par contre, un ronfleur âgé hors catégorie, râleur, a gâché les nuits. Prix très attractifs pour une escapade de trois jours. Bravo.
