This was our fourth year in a row staying here and this year, unfortunately, we were quite disappointed. When we checked in we were informed the hotel was under new ownership, which became very noticeable as our stay progressed. Parking used to be free, but it now costs $10 per night. We have never experienced the parking lot to be full in past stays, with this stay being the same, and all of the parking lots around the hotel were pretty much empty as well, which did not seem to support the need to charge for parking passes. When my husband attempted to order an old fashioned at the bar on Saturday evening he was informed they did not have ingredients to make any cocktails. He then asked for a shot of bourbon on the rocks, and was then told it would cost double the price as what was advertised on the menu. When he pointed out the difference in price the bartender informed him this was due to the new hotel ownership. The continental breakfast, which used to be a highlight for us, was sparsely stocked with many items out and only one employee working to restock things. The staff were friendly and working very hard, but there seemed to be much fewer staff working than usual. Unfortunately most of the things we once loved about this hotel seem to have been very negatively impacted by the change in ownership and, for this reason, we will be looking for alternate lodging for future trips.
