A one night stay. Convenient for the event we were attending. Although there was external work in progress on the building it did not affect our stay. We were warmly welcomed, the room, facilities and food were excellent. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

The twin room was tired and dark - brighter bulbs in the main lights would be a big help to find things as the walls and furnishings are all dark too! It was cold on arrival, the heating had to be switched on at reception and then made so much noise I had to turn it off to sleep. This was an ongoing issue I was told - so why let the room? Clean bathroom, just nowhere to hang anything.

Was in room 214, room was noisy due to being directly above bar which played loud music until 2am. This room was also immediately beside entrance to floor so lots of foot traffic outside door coming and going causing noise. Further more the room appeared to have a lot of noise from the buildings pipework as there was regular loud drainage noises every mins through the the day/night. Room clean but pillows too soft and unsupportive... Mattress and duvet comfortable. Due to not returning to room until after 11pm and the us having unpacked etc we chose to tolerate issues rather than ask for a move. At check out when staff member asked if stay was good issues were reported with minimal apology voiced and then she asked if 'otherwise, your stay was ok?'. Not good enough.

Booked a cosy double but when entering the room given all you could hear were fans from outside the window, looking out you could see the fans too, we then went to speak to the reception staff who thought giving me the room next door may have made a difference but infact the noise from the fans was worse, she stated it’s because you booked a cosy double, I replied saying it shouldn’t matter what room I booked I shouldn’t expect to be awake all night with fans running outside the windows! Apparently she upgraded us to 319, the room was no different with the smallest bathroom I have ever been in and I stay in hotels a lot with my job. On a plus side the breakfast and breakfast staff were lovely.

Hotel lovely staff very friendly the only drawback for me was the tv. I didn’t go to watch tv but like catching up with the news etc but as I have a hearing problem I couldn’t as you could not put the subtitles on. Seemingly you can’t change the settings to allow this. Why I don’t know as you can easily put them off and on with the subtitles button.
