The resort is beautiful and the grounds are nice. Our room was clean and attractive, but there was no in-room coffeemaker at all. You had to go find the out-of-the-way coffee shop to find caffeine. I recommend anywhere BUT the in-resort restaurant Forte. The food was overpriced and definitely subpar.

Some rooms have been updated and are fairly nice. The rooms that have not been updated are worn and tired. Rooms can be noisy….especially the pipes when neighbors run the water. The stopper in our tub did not close so we couldn’t take a bath. Some windows don’t open properly. We did not have luggage racks so opened our suitcases on the floor. Parking is scarce so folks drive around and around looking for a space. Attention to detail is sorely lacking. At half the price, this would have been a decent value.

The property is amazing. The walk in coffee shop unfortunately guilts/shames you into to tipping a min of 20%, even if you just order a bottle of water. The big screen they turn around for you to pay that makes you select a tip or not is irritating as everyone behind you can see if you tip. If I order my food and I am standing, I am not tipping.. those staff get a non-tipped wage. Get rid of the tip shakedown …

I always love Alyeska for the smell , views , food , stay , spa and the relaxation . Only thing I disagree with is the price they charge for rooms and valet . Come on now !!! Give us locals a break on the rate

We weren’t very happy with our stay. For the amount you pay, it’s pretty disappointing that breakfast isn’t even included—it feels unreasonable. The hotel itself is also showing its age and could use some updates. Overall, not really worth the price.

Loved the pool facilities, spaces to walk, gondola. Bar staff and bar service, seating wonderful. Loved the Chacouteri board, went to both. Can’t really rave about the Forte except for the Caesar salad. Room and view wonderful, again staff excellent.

Needs more organization

I was not put into the room. I had booked originally and had to change rooms which took a whole day and night. We also noticed the wallpaper buckling and starting to peel off the walls. At the forte restaurant, the hostesses were very young and unprofessional, laughing and giggling. It is a beautiful place, but definitely the staff could be more friendly. We were also told that there was no way that we could get to the wildlife conservation center, and they were not helpful to help us find a ride. They told us Uber could not come. However, fortunately, Uber did come and we were able to go since I already had reservations there.

We stayed in a recently refurbished room and were very comfortable. Great view of the mountain. Shuttle from the Coastal Classic train to the hotel worked very well. We enjoyed a casual meal in aBar as well as a tasty brunch in the Tramline Cafe. My husband found the Nordic Spa to be excellent. The restaurant at the top of the tram had wonderful views but was pricey. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
