Castle anyone? Yes!

The Amsterdam Castle is a renovated armory! The renovations were done with efficiency and comfort in mind. Every space has purpose to enlarge the room experience. We loved the decor that made us feel that we were living in a castle. Outside the appointments make you feel that you have stepped back to the days of King Arthur! The great room eating area follows this tradition as well. The location in Amsterdam, about 26 miles west of Albany was close enough to the capital but offered other adventures: Erie Canal trail! The parking was tricky just go around the back and avoid the steep entry way. We highly recommend the stay and experience!

We enjoyed this experience of castle life. It was very quiet and we slept well. Our room was nice and clean. The bed was quite comfortable. Lots of places to dine in the surrounding area.

This adorable castle situated in historic Amsterdam has an unexpected charm that I’m happy I stumbled upon. Antique furniture and classical paintings made me want to learn more about the history of the castle. This is a very nice and unique place to stay. We were there to stay after a concert at SPAC so did not really explore the town. However, Saratoga Springs and Balston Spa are a short drive away. Highly recommended.
