We loved the pool, bummed that the hot tub is permanently closed. Staff is very friendly, hotel is clean. Updates have definitely been done since its glory days. We would definitely stay again if in the area. I travelled alone with my 12 year old son, felt safe and comfortable. Breakfast was good, the coffee at breakfast wasn’t the best.

This hotel was definitely not a place we’d stay again. There was extremely heavy smoking and it smelled very bad. The doors had “non-smoking room” written In sharpie on them and our room had what looked like cult signs in the bathroom wall. The tub didn’t hold water and the water pressure was so poor we couldn’t take a shower. I could barely brush my teeth. The rooms smelled like old and fresh cigarette smoke, chlorine and dirty bodies. The hallways were dirty and gross. The reason we gave it 2 stars was because weirdly enough the begs were comfortable.

Super desk staff at check in, give those ladies a raise!!! Great room, and had a nice swim in the pool. Altoona Grand is always a great place to stay at a great price.

The hotel overall was clean. The receptionist rushed are check in because her shift was over and didn’t give any details on breakfast times or check out details, just told us where are room was and called it a day. The hotel is very outdated and it shows. Seats in the dining area are very worn and uncomfortable. The room I stayed in had damaged towel hooks they were never replaced and other minor cosmetic problems in the bathroom.

Carpet needs replaced.

The room and hotel were clean and very nice, but the carpet in room needs replaced. I'm sure they just didnt replace all when renovating...but it should be done. Lots of germs in old carpet....and the hot tub wasnt open which was disappointing because I was looking forward to that in the evenings. Nice pool though.

I go to Altoona several times a year to attend Altoona Curve baseball games. My first time trying the Altoona Grand was a great experience. The hotel is clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The on site restaurant and bar was a nice touch as well. We enjoyed some good food and drinks after the game. The staff were all friendly and willing to help. I will be sure to book again the next time I go back to Altoona.

No phone on 1st night, 2nd day, the tub was over flowing and hair came flowing in on my granddaughter during her shower. Complained about trash, uncleanliness and was given another room. Trash on balcony when we checked in. After complaints at checkout, No one addressed these issuses or reach out to me. No monetary adjustments were offered. A very bad experience and Do not recommend this disgusting place.
