Despite booking a bed and breakfast rate, there was no breakfast served in the Plough. I complained immediately and pointed out that even the welcome note in the room stated breakfast timings. I booked through hotels.com where it clearly stated that breakfast was included. And finally, I have received a receipt from the Plough that says bed and breakfast rate.
Perfect location between Barter Book and the Playhouse with bus stop right outside. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Nice patio outside to enjoy summer evenings. Not fancy, but if your tastes are simple and you want an affordable base from which to explore the area, this is the place for you.
The hotel was very nice in a great location unfortunately it was very cold and the hotel was understaffed with 2 people seeming to do all the work. Food was good but took over an hour to arrive.
Hotel really good. Excellent location. A bit disappointed there was no room for us to eat on first night. But hotel was lovely and clean and decor was spot on. Nice there was parking at back of hotel. Would definately stay again.
Very clean, lovely staff, great parking and good bar.
However, the room was freezing and had to sleep in my coat. Radiator never came on even though it was set to high.
Also, need more than just 1 sachet of milk.

The skirting boards all around the room were thick with dust The silicone in the shower was mouldy. The duvet had a smell to it. Cleanliness overall was disappointing.
Great inn option. Friendly staff and clean accommodation. Only comment was that it is a shame they were not offering breakfast when we stayed.

Lovely little hotel apart from being locked in, having to get out via the fire escape with luggage, and finding the hotel place shut down and locked up. Really bizarre situation, with breakfast apparently served from 8, yet not a a soul in site or contactable on phone or email. A shame as great location, friendly welcome the night before and nice room.
Lovely old coaching inn, tasteful decor. Large bedroom & bathroom.
Delicious food in the restaurant.
Very helpful & efficient staff.
In the centre of Alnwick so convenient for a visit.
Room. It serviced twice, millions of cigarette butts and litter, dirty glasses around outside and inside, beer cans…..

Excellent location with its own car parking albeit with a very tight entrance. A busy pub hotel and checking in was somewhat chaotic as there seemed to be difficulty with the check-in software. This hotel does not provide breakfast. Very noisy because of other guests until 4:00am.
It was My first stay at the Plough & I was extremely impressed. My room (The Muckle) was just what I needed, plenty of space clean, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. The staff were very helpful & friendly. Plenty of room in the car park. I was so impressed I immediately booked My next stay at the Plough
It was a pleasant stay after visiting Alnwick Gardens. The room was about average size but walk up on third floor. The room was clean and as usual air conditioning was provided by opening the window. Parking is available but not for the faint of heart if you are not used to driving in the UK. Would consider staying there again if we are ever in the area.

My room had no Windows, only a very very small Velux, with no blind. It was very tatty, to say the least. I was told breakfast was available from 0800hrs. Couldn’t get access to the restaurant and met other residents looking to get in, but no sign of anyone there. Horrible little hovel!!!

After leaving the property at 8am I was locked out .No staff around. Difficulty getting into the internet.Like a Ben with evening meal which was fully booked
. Poor staff supervision.
The staff were lovely but didn't seem to have had much training.
There was a fire door on the second floor which was closed at night. We had to climb the outdoor stairs at night and in the morning.
One morning everywhere was locked up, couldn't get to the ground floor.
At breakfast there were no fruit juices, yogurts, anything like that.
