Historic downtown hotel

This is a downtown historic hotel with a big lobby and adjacent bar and eating area...think 1920s but nice. The rooms are big and recently renovated. My suggestion to management is just this...if your customer has a good night's sleep, alot of other sins are forgiven. So, in that regards, ditch the cheap pillows for good ones, and get comfortable hospitality mattresses. Apart from that, everything was fine.

Great four-star stay. Would be a five star review but for the motorcycles and cars going back and forth on the main drag on weekends. Service, room and amenities were great though.

The room we stayed in had drop ceilings with the brightest, most uncomfortable bright white fluorescent lighting that not even the worst office building would tolerate. We tried to make do with the two lamps on the nightstands and the microwave range light for the duration of our stay because these lights were so aggressive. The “queen” bed was actually a double. I’m 5’8” and my feet hung over the edge. The overly-soft mattress rested on what I assume was a broken or worn out base, which led to me and my husband rolling into the center of the small bed each night. The walls are paper thin, our door wouldn’t shut without slamming it, and the floors are cheap and poorly installed. Even on the 10th floor, we could hear the traffic and street noises like we were outside at ground level. The water pressure is abyssal and I am so glad I washed my hair right before we travelled so I didn’t have to try to do it here. Just washing my body and getting all the soap off was a challenge. The rooms are spacious in terms of square footage, though the layout is very weird. It was nice having a mini fridge and microwave, and the A/C unit was loud enough to drown out some of the noise. That’s probably the nicest thing I can say about this place.

The location to the venue was ideal! The valet parking was as great! Since we did not have instructions on how to operate the thermostat, we had to go down to the front desk and ask for assistance. Fortunately, she was able to do it from the front desk computer. The breakfast was good. Jordan, our waitress, was fantastic! We had to call the front desk twice to try to get our TV working.The first time I was told someone would be up to fix it. The second time I was told a maintenance man won't be in until Sunday to fix it. We left Sunday morning around 9:15. The other issues we had in our room were: -coffee maker did not work -TV did not work -No Internet -no binder with restaurants or other local attractions -no instructions on how to operate the thermostat since it was freezing when we arrived. The front desk clerk also asked what they could do to rectify our situation. I said to comp our room 50%. She made a list of the above issues and was going to give it to CeCe, the manager, Sunday morning. After breakfast, we learned she would not be in until 9 or 10 am. We could not wait to leave. The issue still was not resolved when we left the hotel. Not a very good, first time guest experience.

Beautiful 1920s era hotel. Room was clean and spacious. Mattress was a bit too soft but not terrible. No parking and valet is $35/day. Or park in garage up street. Staff was very warm, welcoming, and attentive. Only complaint is that I had requested a late check out day before check-in and was granted it for a $30 added fee. Woke up morning of check-out to a message my late check-out was denied due to 3 weddings booked for the night. Front desk did apologize for mix-up. Was never charged so no harm, no foul.

We chose this hotel due to the convenience to walk to the PPL center. The room was spacious and nice overall. However, there was a used wash cloth still hanging on the curtain rod and an empty toiletry bottle on the tub. It was also very noisy inside and out, which made it difficult to get any sleep.

Great room selection, very pleasant staff however it took 2.5 hrs for breakfast in lobby restaurant and valet lost my car keys. After several attempts to locate them, I had to walk to the lot myself and I found them on the outside windshield. So the keys were out in the open all night, not acceptable. Very unhappy with the way the stay ended. At minimum, I expect my $35. valet fee to be refunded. I can be reached at 917-880-0235

Well maintained older hotel. Huge room and excellent beds/furniture. Great service, location and amenities. Felt I got a steal at the price they charged for this room. Highly recommended!!
