"The reception staff upon our arrival and throughout our stay were really excellent. When we arrived at 8.30am to drop our car off in the hotek car park for a later check-in, we were told our room was ready and we couldcm access it straight away. Truly excellent. The room was great and the bed super comfy. Best nights sleep in ages The breakfast was varied and delicious especially with eggs cooked to order. Best location for walking to the gibraltar passport control. Best option for visiting gibraltar. 100% recommend"

"We recently stayed at Fairmont Costa del Sol as a family with young children and, while the hotel has many strong qualities, our overall experience was mixed due to repeated operational issues. First impressions were excellent. The hotel is modern, beautifully designed, very clean, and built with high-quality materials throughout. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and stylish, with large bathrooms, electric curtains, and lovely views. The overall aesthetic of the property is impressive and feels luxurious. The staff we encountered were generally polite, friendly, and clearly tried to help whenever possible. Unfortunately, it often felt like they were working within a system that lacked organisation and efficient management, which affected the guest experience repeatedly. One of the biggest issues was transport around the resort. The hotel is built on a steep hillside, with many villas located far below the main reception, restaurants, and pool areas. We stayed in a lower villa area, and while the location was close to the beach, access to the main facilities was difficult with a pram and young children. Buggies were in very short supply throughout the stay, with waits often 20–30 minutes or more. Walking uphill was challenging, especially with children. Housekeeping was another major frustration. On more than one occasion, despite requesting cleaning and contacting reception multiple times, the room was still not serviced by late afternoon or even evening. Basic items such"

"We had a brief stay at Hotel Mir Octavio and it was perfect for us. Our ferry unluckily arrived hours late so we had very little time to explore Algeciras. Check in was a breeze. We got an excellent night’s sleep - the room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The location of the hotel was great - we ventured out into the city for some breakfast before our 11am bus. We easily walked into town and visited the square, the old city wall, and a market. There were numerous cafes open and offering breakfast items. The bus station is next to the hotel so we easily hopped on our bus on time. I highly recommend this hotel for the location, the price, and the comfort. "

"Our room type was advertised with a balcony, our room just had a window with a wall directly in front with a piece of artificial grass covered in cigarette ends. The room had two single wobbly beds with hard, thin mattresses. The wooden headboards weren’t fixed to the wall, just wobbling about with the beds. The room cooling system did not work, only giving heat on the cool setting. The room was uncomfortably warm and the window couldn’t be opened due to mosquitos at the window. The breakfast was good, after very little sleep."
