Quinta da Fontoura The farmhouse

The farmhouse has three independent units that can be rented together in this case:
* Cabanal has a double bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom and a very large living room with television and a piano.
* Guest Rooms are a unit with three rooms , two with a double bed and the other one with two single beds. It has one bathroom.
* Grand Parents has a double bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom and a living room (verandah type) with television and a fireplace. We can add an additinal bedroom and living contigous and conected to the previous one, The unique bathroom is acessible by the original living. There will be in total 2 bedrooms 2 livings and one bathroom.




Old charming farmhouse, belongs to the family, 5th generation, since the 19th century, comfortable and cosy, rent their own main house and suites, all integrated in the country and woods environment in Central of Portugal, near Aveiro city town known as “Venice of Portugal”.
The farmhouse has capacity to accommodate, until 12 persons, very comfortable in three different rental options:
• The Grand Parents Suite, 2 persons – In the main house for a single couple with a double bedroom and private bath, fire place and a living room, heart of the house, has independent access.
• The Cabanal Suite, 2 persons plus 2 children - A studio for a single couple or with two children has its own bath and large living room also with independent access.
• The Guest´s rooms, 6 persons - A three bedroom configuration area with a shared bathroom has the capacity for 3 couples, one of them has two single beds and two others have double beds, form a zone with an independent access to the patios. These rooms are integrated in the main house, but don´t have private living room, although a common living is available. This option can also be rented together with the grandparents suite since they can be directly connected as a unique unit.
“Quinta da Fontoura” is easily reached driving 1 hour drive from Oporto airport, and 3 hours drive from Lisbon airport.
The magnificent biologic swimming pool and a lake, with 700 square meters, are feed with fresh water from its own natural water source, in the middle of farm woods with 3 acres offers a multi variety of very old trees, gardens and plenty cosy spaces to rest and quite a very comfortable holidays.
On demand you can take the traditional gastronomic meals, lunches or dinners for all family, served inside of the farmhouse in any of the many wonderful and romantic corners of the farm, close to the swimming pool, in the country, or even in the woods in an idyllic environment, at very reasonable rates of 20 Euros a complete meal for an adult, wine included and special rates for children.
Daily breakfasts at the “mangedoura”, bed linens, towels for bath and for swimming as well as the cleaning once a week are included in the weekly rates. There are no extra or hidden costs.
Cable TV is available. Internet access is also available by WIFI in all farm area, with exception of the woods.
In the area around you can take many different tours, we are able to advise you some organized and optimized tours to do by yourself. Chariots tours and horse riding lessons are available on the request close to the farmhouse. Car rental is recommended to explore all around, beaches “Cost Nova”, landscapes, traditional and small villages and fishing harbours, and the secular boat trips call “moliceiros”, name of the very old boats for harvesting of algae from the river “Ria de Aveiro” for fertilizing agriculture fields.

Swimming in the biological pool with current water directly from its source in the wood, is unforgettable experience. Purity and natural pH value allows you take a wonderful bath of soft water.
The area around town Aveiro, called silver coast, is full of activities and things to do, since there are a wide variety of wines and gastronomic options, sports and fishing activities in the river and sea as well as caves, restaurants and night life.
