Overall loved it. We booked the private pool which sounded great but was freezing cold and had to be filled up almost every day. But everything else was great
First of all I hate giving bad reviews as this means I have wasted my time and money staying there.
It started withe the access up a steep worn out driveway and then a maze of steps eventually leading to a unfriendly receptionist.
On arrivalwe found out the hotel no longer as a Restaurant or a snack bar or couples private dining all though all these services are still offered on all booking sites and their own website.
The room was small but clean but the air con was so noisy we could not use this at night in the middle of summer .
The only thing stopping the toilet falling off the wall was a couple of chunks of woodcjammed under the bowl.
We had no coffee making facilties in our room even though it was listed on our itinerary.
After complaining about these issues I was told the air con could not be fixedcand we was not entitled to a coffee machine and no water was supplied in the noisy fridge.
Out side the pool looked like the edges had not been cleaned for a long time and the tables around the pool had been removed so even if you had food or drink around the pool you had to store it on the floor like the couple who had a bottle of Beer and was supplied with 2 paper coffee cups to drink it from ,very classy.
The Hotel was under staffed and the staff there were not helpful or friendly ,have been luck enough to do a lot of travelling this summer staying in 15 hotels and this was the worst experince we had , the photos of this hotel do not reflect reality not a 4 star hotel.
We loved our stay at Meliti hotel, the staff was very nice, and we are already missing the wonderful view. Breakfast was lovely and different every day and the hotel was quiet and relaxing. As the hotel is located equidistant from Agios Nikolaos and Elounda you would be better with a car, although at the bottom of the street there is the bus stop for both places. Nearby tavernas we tried were also very nice.
Owner/Management doesn't care or have any pride in their property with the worst plumbing ever. The parking area was poorly lit at night so I had to use a flashlight. The parking lot had a deep dip at the entrance that could cause damage to cars entering. The reception, bar, pool and dining areas were fine. The room counters had many scratches and were worn. The toilet only worked on the small flush for one day, trickled all day and then did not work at all. They gave us a bucket to flush it despite us trying to get them to send someone to fix it. They could not move us to another room. The first day there was no water for the shower until I had to find the plumber nearby fixing another room. They admitted they had a plumbing problem throughout the hotel. They did not compensate us for our trouble. The shower head leaked and was loose and the faucet was slow draining. The pool by the room had a big crack and although another layer of glass was added , it did not look good. The place think their posh but I've been to better 2 star places.
Lovely hotel set above street level so little noise especially around the beautiful pool area.
Breakfasts were amazing in form of help yourself buffet. We didn’t eat there at night but apparently very good restaurant. We can preferred to go into Agios Nicholas in the evening where there is a bustling night life but also went to Olga’s a couple of times just a very short walk from the hotel.
Good base for visiting this part of Crete.
The air conditioning was essential as temperatures were high but it wasn’t as quiet as other hotels’ aircon at night.
The hotel was close to the center of the city, 5 minute walk to the beach, the room was small but satisfactory, a nice breakfast, friendly staff and service. Nice view of the sea, In the process of upgrading the property.
Very nice hotel /very friendly and efficient staff
Very good stay indeed
The hotel is overlooking the sea, the view is just breathtaking ! We were in a room that was not 100% matching our expectations so we could arrange a change of room for the next day. The staff is really very nice and efficient. The buffet breakfast is very very nice indeed.
We can only recommend this place in the warmest possible way.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Room comfort
High price in relation to value for money
Hotel staff try to provide good service but it is necessary to improve the maintenance of the hotel.
We took a room with a shared pool and a view of the garden (not to the sea) and the pool was in a very dilapidated state of maintenance, it was not possible to use a pool at all. The paint at the bottom of the pool peeled off and the water was full of insects.
The room was missing a lot of things, there was not even an electric kettle to make coffee.
The hotel has a good restaurant that is open at all hours of the day until a relatively late hour and with good prices (actually the coffee cost relatively expensive).
The hotel is close to the city of Agios Nicholas so we chose it, but later we saw that there are many better options nearby.
