Disappointing Return Stay – the Grosvenor Has Gone Downhill I stayed at the Grosvenor Hotel back in 2018 and had a reasonably pleasant experience, but this visit was bloody awful. We booked the most economical room and certainly got the cheapest, dirtiest one available. I honestly doubt there’s a worse room in the building. Our room had two small windows facing the centre of the hotel, overlooking a tin roof and filled with the constant sound of pigeons. The unpleasant smell in the room made things even worse. To be fair, we were allowed to check in early, which was appreciated. However, the rest of the experience was disappointing. The hotel feels incredibly tired and is in desperate need of a proper makeover. One of the lifts has apparently been out of order for ages, which adds to the general sense of neglect. Overall, this once-decent hotel has really gone downhill. I wouldn’t stay again unless major renovations are done.
