Second time at the Hard Rock Tenerife. First time was back in 2018 with my then teenaged daughter on half board and this time with my partner on all inclusive. Two very different experiences. If going all inclusive you need to study the app like an easy exam. The restrictions, the times for à la carte, the 30% discounts and what you can drink on AI in one restaurant you may have to pay for in another. The one buffet restaurant has the same recycled food breakfast, lunch and dinner. Remember the À la carte restaurants are with a 30% discount or very lack lustre. It overall made the experience less enjoyable. I don’t normally book all inclusive as I like to explore and dine out but this short break over the festive was supposed to be chilled. Staff were ok. Can’t say anyone stood out or made the trip remarkable. The hotel was more on a revenue drive than service to its actual guests, which is a shame as I enjoyed it first time round but would not recommend unless it’s for the festive period or the events they host throughout the year. On the plus side the NYE party and the buffet was fantastic. If ever I was to return to a Hardrock Hotel I would do 1 overnight only to bring in the New Year.

Hotel was fine, staff good, music was great. I wouldn’t call this a 5 star hotel however; The food at breakfast was average (tinned fruit rather than fresh) and drinks are overpriced (and it’s only Heineken). More like an average 4 star hotel that charges 5 star prices.

Most of our trip was amazing apart from a few areas which really impacted our experience. Firstly a few of the canteen staff were very rude to us when we wanted to ask if any drinks were available for us at dinner even though we were half board. A simple answer would have sufficed without the attitude and the same waiter seemed to have the same attitude all the time as when we saw her the next dinner it was the same attitude. Apart from this one staff everyone else was great and very helpful. We had a jacuzzi bath that poured out dark gunk into the bath water, which required a good hour of cleaning. The drinking glasses in the room were not clean. I raised concerns with the desk and they did not apologise, nor did the cleanliness improve. Thoroughly disappointing from a cleanliness perspective. Otherwise a reasonable hotel, although not worth the price pre-discount.

For a five star hotel, I found the service poor, when I reported torn/hole in the duvet cover, safe not working, and the car parking QR code not working, it was met with little concern from the receptionist. The room itself was fine, pool area ok, the waitress first encounter with me was to say ‘yes’ instead of what would you like to order. Breakfast is manic, tea/coffee is self service. Compared to hard rock ibiza, Tenerife hard rock felt like a four star. I don’t think it’s worth the money that it charges for some dates. We wouldn’t return there….they said they would email when we could check in, they didn’t. We don’t usually complain about hotels…. This just didn’t live up to the expected standard….

The room was great and staff also very good. No complaints there! A few things I would have expected from a 5 star hotel. Would be complimentary bottles of water in your room. We did have on arrival but never got replaced and I would have expected it to! The pricing for the drinks was completely ridiculous. 12 euro for Heineken lager( not an even a premium lager) the cheapest lager about. And everyone one I did get ( not many as I refuse to pay the prices). was completely flat!! 4.50 euro for a 200ml bottle of coke!! For this reason I’ll not be back.
