Surroundings is nothing special. Downtown Abu Dhabi isn't pretty or touristic, however it's a good base to sightseeing and taxis are cheap. The hotel itself is very clean but even after 3 nights at the hotel I couldn't figure out how to get hot water. Sometimes functionality is better than design.
