This is just a place to stay. There were some ok things - paid parking, available restaurant, fairly close food/shopping, the room was simple but as advertised. The detractors: from the front desk check-in to our room was about a 100 yd walk - through perhaps 4 interior fire doors - hallways, then exit outside through 24hr locking doors - cross a driveway - then re-enter the building - must use keycard. With the room essentially feet away from a very active bus stop and rubbish bins. Then they have in very prominent writing. To call them directly for the best rates…i feel as if i got sub-standard treatment from using expedia. I am sure they have more suitable rooms, but i did not get one.

I'm a frequent visitor to the Aberdeen Sandman and often a solo traveller. On this occasion the service in the bar was so poor, not enough staff, badly organised, that I left and ordered room service instead. The food was delicious but ordering it proved problematic as I requested no carbs and extra vegetables which I was told initially wasn't possible. More and better trained staff please Sandman.

The hotel was adequate. The room was comfortable enough, it was as clean as it needed to be, and check in/check out was fairly hassle free. The website advertised having a car park on site- there is one but the entryway is extremely narrow (under an inch of clearance on either side of our car) and spaces are very limited for the size of hotel. They have a deal with the Bon Accord centre so park there- it's cheaper and you won't lose the paint off the side of your car. They gym is small and not terribly well-equipped- there is no water available so bring your own.

Good hotel - would stay again

Our room was absolutely fine and big/clean enough. Howevere, a pair of socks from a previous occupant were left in the wardrobe, which calls into question the attentiveness of the cleaning staff. The bars, breakfast and staff were all excellent though, and the hotel itself has a very pleasing ambience.
