Description

Admire the sights of the historical yet modern city of Taipei—filled with ancient temples and towering skyscrapers. On this private tour visit the Taipei Confucius Temple, Taipei 101, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall as well as Dalongdong Baoan Temple and dine at critically acclaimed Din Tai Fung.

Your private tour begins as you make your way to the Taipei Confucius Temple. While you wander the grounds of the 19th-century temple, built in the Qing Dynasty and modeled after the original Confucius Temple in China, stop to see the beautiful Fujian-style ceramics.

Next, take an elevator 101 floors up to the top of one of the world's tallest skyscrapers—Taipei 101—designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes. Take in the impressive view from 1,667 feet (508 m) for a bird's-eye view of the city. Break for lunch at Din Tai Fung, one of the most renowned restaurants in the world, and savor the signature dumplings and xiaolongpao (bread rolls) that earned this restaurant a Michelin star.

Continue to the famous Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, built in memory of the former President of China, and then admire its blue octagonal roof and browse the history of Taipei at the museum on the ground floor. Then at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Dalongdong Baoan Temple, built more than 200 years ago, marvel at the ornate roof as well as beautiful stone and wood carvings of lions and dragons before you return to your hotel.

Great mix of culture and contemporary Taipei. In depth tour of CKS Memorial, Confucius and Boa-an Temple and plus tour of iconic Taipei 101. Highlight was our traditional lunch at Din Tai Fung with yummy dumplings. Our guide, Adam, was very pleasant, professional and full of historical information. Highly recommend this private tour since we were able to set a pace that suited us rather than a "schedule."
