Tampa International (TPA) is located on the eastern shore of Tampa Bay, FL, five miles west of downtown Tampa. The airport is accessible off I-275 and Route 589. Nonstop to Buffalo Niagara International (BUF), typical flight times are just under three hours. You can reach central Buffalo via Route 33, and taxi and bus service to Buffalo and Niagara falls is available.
Once a booming manufacturing hub, modern Buffalo is far from New York City in terms of distance and style. Industrial buildings along the Erie Canal have been renovated and reimagined into arts galleries and destinations for food and drink. The Naval and Military Park one mile south of downtown gives insight into the history of America's armed forces. You can take a 30-minute trip northeast of Buffalo and tour the natural wonder of Niagara Falls and even cross the international border into Canada for a visit (don't forget your passport if you're planning to do so.)
Buffalo is located in a northern lake climate, with mild-to-hot summers and cold, snowy winters. You should also pack an umbrella and raincoat, as storms can be sudden and severe. Visitors to Buffalo typically stay in the downtown area, although Niagara has lodging near the falls, which is a popular honeymoon excursion.
