Las Vegas, Nevada, is one of those cities that don't seem to sleep. No matter what the time of day is, there's always something to do like attending a show-stopping performance by the Blue Man Group, eating a five-star meal or dancing at the latest nightclub. It's a good thing time isn't a factor; otherwise, it would be nearly impossible to squeeze all in the fun you're about to enjoy in America's playground. Only a hop, skip and jump from Oakland, CA, you can bet a seat is waiting for you at the eclectic shows, scrumptious buffets and gambling tables.
When you land in Las Vegas at the McCarran International Airport, or LAS, you'll have the option of taking a cab to your accommodations or renting a car. Cabs in the city are abundant, but if you would like to forgo the wait, renting a car is highly recommended.
After a direct flight from Oakland that takes about an hour and a half, you'll touch down in Sin City. Most of the attractions are centrally located on the Strip, so when you rent your car, make it a point to tour the city by car and admire the Bellagio Fountains, Venetian Grand Canal and Mirage Volcano.
