Newark International Airport (EWR) is the country's oldest airfield, and is located just 14 miles from Manhattan. Getting there is as easy as taking I-95 or Highway 1 and following the signs to your terminal. While you can easily park your car at the airport, there are also taxis and shuttles that can drop you off. You can also take the AirTrain or the city bus to the airport. Typical flight times are usually about three-and-a-half hours to Santiago Municipal Airport (STI). Once there, you can take Highway 19 or Highway 21 to your destination. Public transportation and rental cars are available.
Santiago is home to the La Aurora Cigar Factory, the Catedral de Santiago Apostol, the Dream Casino, Kaskada Park and Las Colinas Mall. You can also see the Mercado Modelo, the Hangover Rock Bar and Monumento a los Heroes de la Restauracion.
Take in a football game at Estadio La Barranquita, or a baseball game at Estadio Quisqueya. Annual events in the city include Santo Domingo bird watching, Whale Watching in Samana, the National Carnival Parade, and Long Night at the Museum.
Santiago is located in a tropical climate, which means year round temperatures that are warm; in the 70s and 80s on average. Leaving Santiago is convenient with flights going to Dallas, New York and Orlando daily.
