A flight from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH), places you within a 30-minute drive of the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, as well as many other Houston attractions. Spend a long layover shopping at The Galleria, or take your children to the Houston Zoo and the Children's Museum. If you have the time to venture a little further afield from the airport, then explore the beauty of the Gulf Coast while playing on the Kemah Boardwalk.
There are three main highways you'll be able to take to get around Houston. I-69 South will take you from the airport straight into Houston. The TX-8 beltway makes a loop around the outer limits of the city and gives easy access to surrounding cities. I-610 creates a tighter loop closer to most destinations within the city limits. If you want to get away from the big city and explore the Gulf Coast a little, take the TX-8 beltway eastbound to find the Kemah Boardwalk and other waterfront destinations.
A direct flight from Newark to Houston will take less than four hours to complete. Houston Intercontinental Airport now features a consolidated rental car facility where you can rent from multiple companies in one spot. Shuttles to the facility are available from all airport terminals.
