Bradley International Airport (BDL) is a joint civil and military airport in Connecticut. Getting to this smaller airport is easy via Exit 40 off Route 91 North or South. By bus, the Bradley Flyer Route can take you from Hartford to BDL. Nonstop flights to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) average two-and-a-half hours.

At ATL, MARTA trains and buses are the smartest choice for public transit, with the Red and Gold Train lines servicing a variety of areas. Greyhound buses also take visitors directly from ATL to various locations. If you are driving, I-85 N is the best way to get to Atlanta.

Attractions and tips

Once in Atlanta, Centennial Olympic Park and Georgia Aquarium offer family fun. Get a glimpse of the origins and production of everyone’s favorite bubbly beverage at the World of Coca-Cola.

Visit Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, the childhood home of the great civil rights leader. About two hours north of Atlanta, you’ll find Chattahoochee National Forest, where you can hike the beginning of the Appalachian Trail.
