Washington Dulles International (IAD) can be reached from Route 28 via Route 7 and I-66. From Washington, D.C., you can take I-66 west to Route 267, which leads directly to the airport. Flight times are usually between 12 hours and 30 minutes, and 22 hours. After landing at Athens Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH), Route 62 leads west to E94/Route 6 north and finally to Route 64 west to the outskirts of downtown Athens.

Athens' subtropical Mediterranean climate means a bit of temperature variation through the year, with a low average of 49 degrees in January, and a high average of 83 degrees in July and August. While the area gets a moderate amount of rain from late fall to early spring, the summer months are mostly dry and might be the best time to visit if you like warmer weather.
