Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) contains five terminals. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 support mainly international flights. Terminal 5 houses the low-cost carriers. Popular sites include the Intramuros walled area that serves as the capital during the Spanish colonization.
Intramuros has a variety of historically interesting artifacts including dungeons and gunpowder rooms. An aquarium is located at Manila Ocean Park, amusement parks can be found in Star City and the Ayala Triangle Gardens give you an opportunity to get outside, and enjoy the Light and Sound Show every night from November to December.
Ground transportation includes Inter-terminal transportation with a shuttle bus system that connects the four existing terminals. An external bus system connects the airport to several points throughout Manila, including Norzagaray, San Jose del Monte City, Valenzuela City, Novaliches, Quezon City and Bagumbayan. A rail system also connects indirectly to the airport.
The flight time from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) is about 14 hours. The airport was named after Beningo "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr. He was assassinated at the airport in 1983.
Car rentals can be found in Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, and include all of the major car rental companies. Getting a rental car provides you with the most freedom, and can make visiting some of the nearby attractions more convenient.
