Portland International Airport (PDX) has a direct rail service to and from the downtown area, so it’s easy for travelers to get to the airport without leaving their cars in the long stay car park.
As a major hub, you’ll find direct flights to tourist destinations, including Honolulu. Flights from Portland International Airport (PDX) to Honolulu International Airport (HNL) take six hours. You can save money by choosing a non-stop flight, which increases your total travel time to around nine hours.
Honolulu International Airport (HNL) is six miles from downtown Honolulu via bus, taxi or shuttle, or you can rent a car and head to the city via Interstate H-1. It’s also just 10 miles away from the beach.
Honolulu is home to Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial. The USS Missouri Battleship is stationed at Pearl Harbor and open for tours. Waikiki is Honolulu’s most famous beach, and you can hike to the top of Diamond Head.
If you’re an animal lover, go to Honolulu Zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium. You can also see examples of local marine life in Honolulu’s Hanauma Bay.
Upon arrival at Honolulu International Airport (HNL), look for Visitor Information Booths if you’re confused about baggage claim and gate areas.
