Benito Juarez airport (MEX) serves Mexico City and houses two terminals linked by a monorail. A good area to explore near the airport is San Jacinto Plaza where you can get authentic food and shop for local crafts. Nearby attractions include the ancient ruins of Museo Memoria y Tolerancia. The elegant Edificio de Correos sits downtown and showcases historical Mexican architecture.
Mexico City has a subway station that leaves from Terminal 1 and can take you to the center of the city. Direct buses are also available that can take you to many locations including Puebla, a World Heritage City that according to legend was built by angels. You can also take a bus or drive your rental car to Queretaro, where you can listen to indigenous music and eat traditional Mexican food. Some key attractions within Mexico City include the National Museum of Anthropology, Chapultepec Castle, National Palace and the National Museum of Art.
Flying from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) takes just over 3 hours. The curving roads in Mexico City may be confusing to visitors, so consider adding GPS to your rental in order to find your way around more easily.
