Situated on the waterfront area of Flushing Bay, LaGuardia Airport (LGA) can be reached by taking the Grand Central Parkway.
Flights from LGA to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) usually last for about four-and-a-half hours. Reaching Downtown Salt Lake City is a four-mile journey with hotel courtesy cars available from both terminals. There is also a train stop at Terminal One and bus stops outside the Welcome Center as well as adjacent to Baggage Claim 8.
With the nickname "Genealogy Capitol of the World," it's no surprise that the Family History Library in the city is a popular destination. If you are an architecture buff, check out temple square, and if you enjoy nature, don't miss the scenic trails of the nearby Wasatch National Forest. Park City and Snowbird Ski Resort are great options for skiers.
If you're traveling to Salt Lake City for a winter ski trip, be sure to pack warm, as temperatures can drop below freezing.
The best time to visit if you don't plan on skiing is in autumn, as it is warmer and drier than the other seasons. It is still a good idea to pack a light jacket no matter when you visit, because temperature fluctuations are common.
