Passengers flying into San Diego International Airport (SAN) will fall in love with this city on the water. San Diego is home to many fine hotels and restaurants, such as Cucina Urbana. Wildlife lovers will enjoy spending a day watching marine life at La Jolla Cove, or seeing over 600 species of animals, at the world renowned San Diego Zoo.
Surfers will be able to find some of the best waves in the city at Windansea Beach, in La Jolla. The Botanical Building and Lily Pond offers its visitors a little bit of peace and tranquility; a huge contrast to the hustle and bustle of San Diego life. Visitors to the city can also head for the Gas Lamp District, where they will find over 100 unique boutiques for shopping.
San Diego is connected to Los Angeles by Interstate 5, and the two cities are separated by almost 125 miles. Interstate 15 carries travelers inland, and is the road to follow if you are trying to head to the north. Interstate 8 heads east out of San Diego and towards Arizona.
The cross-country flight from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to San Diego takes a little under six hours to complete. Upon arrival, head for a favorite beach, such as Coronado Beach.
