Your trip to London is going to be filled with new things to see and do. With such a busy itinerary, you should rent a car at the London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to be sure you can visit everything on your schedule. After getting your keys, drive over to Windsor Castle, just minutes from the airport. While you can tour this castle, it's also still used by the royal family.
From the airport, travel east on A40 to reach the Tower of London, which is located in the center of downtown. This castle and fortress was built at the end of the 11th century with many additions created throughout the centuries. Today, you can walk the walls of the castle, and view the Crowned Jewels on display here. Be sure to also see the Big Ben clock tower and have a cup of English tea while overlooking the Thames.
When you board your plane at the Logan International Airport (BOS) on your way to London, you can expect the flight to last around seven hours. On arrival you’ll find the airport in London has five terminals. If you need to make a connecting flight in another terminal, there is a bus service between them, so you don't need to clear customs there.
