About The Rolling Stones

Created in 1962, they originally included Brian Jones, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, and Ian Stewart. They focused on Chicago Blues style music. With a fan base that spans multiple generations, Rolling Stones tickets are sure to sell out within minutes!

The Rise of the Stones

The band’s first single was a cover of “Come On” by Chuck Berry. It was released in 1963 and rose to number 21 in the UK singles charts. The Rolling Stones also released “I Wanna Be Your Man” and “Not Fade Away” in 1963 and 1964. The next few years were difficult and tumultuous for the Stones. They performed in the United States for the first time and appeared on multiple talk shows. No one seemed to be ready for the rock n roll aura of the band. They were even mocked for their style and performance.

The Rolling Stones reached their peak of fame when they released their second album, The Rolling Stones No. 2, or The Rolling Stones, Now! in the US. This album included hit songs like The Last Time, which reached number one in the UK. Soon after, the band released single, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts for four weeks. The early 1960’s continued to be a great time for The Stones, releasing hit after hit.

As the 60’s neared their end, The Rolling Stones found themselves in trouble. The drug and party scene in London was running rampant and the police were catching on. Both Jagger and Jones were arrested for drug related charges, but they didn’t let these setbacks stop them from recording music. In 1967 they released Their Satanic Majesties Request, which reached number three in the UK and number two in the US. The Stones manager Oldham decided to leave the band during this time.

The Rolling Stones continued their success into the 1970s. Releasing an impressive number of albums including Beggars Banquet, The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus, Let It Bleed, Exile on Main St, Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out!, Sticky Fingers, Hot Rocks 1964-1971, Goats Head Soup, It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll, Black and Blue, Love You Live, and Some Girls.

In 1989 the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, bringing the bandmates back together to begin recording once again. Richards, Jagger, Taylor, Woods and Jones began working on Steel Wheels.

The Rolling Stones released Jump Back in 1993 and Voodoo Lounge in 1994.They continued to tour in both Europe and North America throughout the entirety of the 1990s.

The next album was Forty Licks, marking 40 years as a band. This album included many of the classics as well as a few new songs. The same year, the band was honored as being one of the ‘Top 50 Bands to See Before You Die’ by Q magazine. In February 2006 The Rolling Stones performed for the Super Bowl XL in Detroit, Michigan.
