A new pulse in EDM

After emigrating from Ukraine to Canada with her Ukrainian mother and Iranian father, Isabelle Rezazadeh found herself entranced by the Toronto EDM scene. She got involved in DJing herself as a teenager, following in the footsteps of deadmau5. The first hint of her future success came when Skrillex found her music online and reached out to her. She began uploading music on SoundCloud in 2015, but soon she was releasing music on mau5trap, deadmau5's label. Her first mau5trap EP, The Silence is Defeaning, came out in 2016. A few months later she issued the follow-up, Something Wrong Here, which hit high on the Billboard Dance chart. In 2017 she released her first full-length album, Mass Manipulation, snagging the Electronic Album of the Year at the Juno Awards. She continues to release prolifically, with 2018 releases for "Witching Hour" and "Hex," singles off her sophomore record.
