Turning a Passion from a Hobby to a Career

Growing up in Ireland, Niall Horan discovered his musical passion when he taught himself to play his brother's neglected guitar. He started performing, and when he was just sixteen, he auditioned for The X Factor. While he failed to progress as a solo act, the judges recognized his talent and added him to the boy band they were organizing – which became One Direction. The band clinched third place and a record deal, stealing hundreds of thousands of hearts all over the world in the process.

Solo Career

As a driving creative force in One Direction, Niall co-wrote many of the band's hits, including "Taken," "Everything About You," and "Story of My Life." In 2020, Horan went on his North American tour of his latest album with special guests Lewis Capaldi and Fletcher. He kicked off the tour in Nashville in mid-April at the Bridgestone Arena. In April he made stops in Atlanta, Miami, Orlando, Washington, and New York. He also continued all through May where he stopped in Uncasville, Philadelphia, Toronto, Tulsa, Glendale, and a few others before he wrapped his tour up in Los Angeles at The Forum in mid-May.
