A tumultuous path for musical legends
Started in 1989 in New York City, Life of Agony had to put in several years of grueling work before they found success. They didn't release their debut album until 1993. Life of Agony enjoyed success for several years, before the departure of their lead singer thrust them into a difficult situation. Instead of replacing their vocalist, Life of Agony decided to disband in 1999. Fans' agony was relieved in 2003, when Life of Agony reunited for two sold out back-to-back shows at Irving Plaza. In 2005 they released Broken Valley, and went back on tour with bands like Megadeth and Dream Theater. However, by 2012 the band was back on hiatus. During this time, lead singer Caputo began transitioning from male to female. In 2014, Life of Agony reincarnated again, playing their first show with Mina Caputo in Belgium. The band announced plans for their first studio album in over a decade.
