Brandon Lay grew up in Tennessee, his childhood laying the groundwork for many of his future songs. In 2010 he relocated to Nashville, where he started putting in the work to distinguish himself from the rest of the country star hopefuls. It wasn't until three years later that he finally scored a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell, wedging his foot in the door of the industry.
