A Budding Star

Bea Miller was born on February 7, 1999 in Maplewood, New Jersey. As a child Bea often fell victim to bullying as the result of her having two mothers. Using these experiences to create a positive impact, Bea became an ambassador for Ditch the Label which is an anti-bullying charity. In 2012 at just 13 years old she began competing on The X Factor, an American reality competition television show. Miller made it to the fourth week before she ultimately got eliminated from the competition. Shortly after her elimination it was announced that she was signing with not one but two record labels, marking it as the first time the two labels had ever collaborated for a single artist. In the summer of 2015 Miller released her debut album Not an Apology, which featured leading singles “Young Blood” and “Fire n Gold”. At its highest point, the album reached the number seven spot on the Billboard 200 chart. The sensation surrounding her album gained attention from many, leading her to appear on the Today show as well as be named the Radio Disney’s newest Next Big Thing. Bea Miller went on later that year to be opening acts for artists such as Debby Ryan, Demi Lovato, Natalie La Rose and Fifth Harmony.

In 2016 Miller was announced as the opening act alongside DNCE for Selena Gomez’s Revival Tour. While touring with Gomez, Miller released several singles that she would perform for audiences around the world. Her second full-length album Aurora was released in 2018 and it features all songs that were written by Bea, covering various topics plaguing society. 2018 was also a breakthrough year for Bea in terms of collaborations. She was featured on NOTD’s single “I Wanna Know”, which reached Gold and then Platinum status in over five countries.
