About Radio City Christmas Spectacular
One of New York City's defining holiday spectacles, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular hosted by the fabulously talented and iconic Rockettes is a must-see performance for any visitor to New York City during the most magical time of the year.
A Long-Standing Tradition
Beginning back in 1933, the Christmas Spectacular is one of the most popular holiday events in the world. When the show premiered, the Music Hall would present live stage shows in front of a screen playing Hollywood’s featured films. The original showing of the Christmas Spectacular was on December 21, 1933, with the movies Flying Down to Rio, The Night Before Christmas and Silly Symphony playing behind the live show. Over the years the show has taken on many producers and has seen several changes. With all the new additions and subtractions from the original plot of the show, the two things that have always remained the same are the “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” and “The Living Nativity”.
Radio City's Christmas Spectacular has to be seen (and heard) to be believed.
A veritable country's worth of performers round out the production that takes the audience on a journey through all the greatest parts of the holiday season. Since the beginning of Christmas Spectacular, the Rockette-starring production has become one of the most recognizable and oft-performed live Christmas programs in the United States. With their famous kick lines and dance moves, the Rockettes provide next level entertainment to the audience.
People travel from all over the world to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, so don't miss out on the chance to bring you and your family to a night that will send your Christmas cheer through the roof and past the skyscrapers of the Big Apple!
