Houston Rockets vs. San Antonio Spurs

The Rockets-Spurs Rivalry is known as the I-10 Rivalry because both cities lie on Interstate 10. The Rockets first competed for the division title against the Spurs and won, but the Spurs then won in 1978 and 1979. Both teams moved from East to West and the intensity grew. Some notable games include in December 2004 when the Spurs were dominating, but Houston managed to come out on top at the end. But in November 2008 the Spurs made a comeback with a victory against Houston as they were initially dominating but fell short at the very end. Both teams have proven to be talented and continue to have a strong competition.

Houston Rockets vs. Dallas Mavericks

The rivalry began when the Mavericks were the last team from Texas to join the NBA in 1980. The Rockets won all meetings during the Mavericks’ first season, but the Mavericks managed to defeat the Rockets in the 1988 and 2005 playoffs. Jason Terry also played a role when he left the Mavericks after playing with them for a long time to join the Rockets. Over the years each team has had their win against the other, proving to be top competitors.
