A History of Crown the Empire

Crown the Empire formed in 2010 while the group was still in high school. The group did have some rotation in their membership during their initial period. The goal of the band was to produce a unique form of metal music that was heavier than the current genre but still had poppy lyrics that would cater to a wide audience. In 2011, the band released their EP, titled Limitless, and enjoyed some success. The band also posted their videos on YouTube, which included some covers of already popular songs. The band began their first US tour in January of 2012 and enjoyed some success. The band then released a series of singles, including "Makeshift," which came off of their album titled The Fallout, released by Rise Records. The band continued to record music and perform regularly over the next few years and is going on tour again this year.
