Top of North Lake Leelanau - Secluded Lake Cottage w/ Dock & Sandy Bottom

Beachfront vacation home with kitchen and patio
Built in the 1960s, this historic lake home was designed by Ken Krantz in his Inter-Arts Studio and features a cathedral ceiling, beautiful aged pine paneling, antiques and multiple areas to play games, read or simply watch the sunset through the trees. Located near the intersection of M-22 and County Road 641, Leland is 3.3 miles away, Northport is 8.5 miles, and Lake Leelanau is 6 miles. A bike ride around the lake is 14.5 miles with stops in Leland and Lake Leelanau. Southwestern facing, the home sits back from the water across North Lake Leelanau Drive and includes nearly 400' of prime lake frontage, a private dock and a sandy lake bottom. Children can play in nearby Houdek Creek, walk in the woods, swim, and skip rocks from the shore. Wake up to a mirror calm view of the lake, enjoy your coffee, and plan your day. There are four bedrooms. The Master suite is upstairs and includes a queen bed and private bathroom with shower. Downstairs, the front bedroom has a new double bed. The two back bedrooms are great for sleeping, one with two single beds (both new) and the second with a queen bed. The living room includes a pull out sofa bed. For hot summer days, two portable air conditioners easily keep summer weather at bay, the large ceiling fan in the living room helps move warm and cool air around depending on the season. The house was completely rewired, painted, and new lighting added throughout in 2018. Several new appliances were purchased for the kitchen and a new high capacity washing machine added to the wash room. Designed to be lived in, the kitchen is well equipped for cooking and entertaining, with all the conveniences of home. For grilling outdoors there is a new Weber charcoal grill. Short trip, just not long enough!

What a great location. This place is well maintained and has lake front access. Yes, I would rent again, but stay longer for sure. The Marshall’s made our stay a great experience.

Lovely home, beautiful lake, great host

This inviting lake house was the perfect setting for our family vacation. It has had recent updates while maintaining its character and charm. The lakefront is beautiful, everything was incredibly clean, and we easily found everything we needed. Ed made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and he shared fascinating stories about the property's history and the area with us. All in all, a relaxing and beautiful getaway!
