We have traveled to Michigan as a family a dozen times, this view was the best we have ever had. With that being said it was the most pricey house we have rented but not the most updated. The location and view are stunning, the deck at beach is where we spent majority of time. Thankfully the increase in water has still left this location with a beach. Lots of rocks bring water shoes, kids couldn’t swim without. Tubes work great also to float, bc the rocks go far out. As for the house the layout is great for large family, two decks and you cannot hear road in back most the time. The house needs a great deal of love though, especially the bathrooms. It was clean and ready for us, but we were not notified until arrival no hot tub (pretty disappointing) ,the hose for spraying feet with lots of little ones is inconvenient, and the shrubs need cut bad in front it is very unsafe pulling in and out driveway and you can’t see bc if overgrown things. The main bathroom downstairs smelled of urine so bad. It needs a new rug, all need toilet seats , fixtures, just simply new things. For this price the basics should be updated now and then and they clearly may have never been replaced in this house..ever. We were not told to deal with humidifiers and after not messing with them for a day a patch of mold the size of a baseball grew on carpet. We then started dumping them twice a day and all was fine. We did not see any history of mold so other then staying on top of those it was fine. We would stay there again, if they updated some. For a pricey trip you expect at the very least a hand towel and bedding not from the early 80s. It would be easy to do some updates. Again the view was nothing short of amazing. We had a nice time at the house, and enjoyed our trip. Cell reception is a no and WiFi is spotty at best so we used house phone which worked fine. Also Fishtown is fun for everyone and less then ten mins away.
