About this property

Booking NOW FOR Fall!

Downtown Traverse City is 7 miles away! This adorable cottage is the perfect place to return to after a day of adventuring in and around the Grand Traverse Region. Beautiful sunsets as you sit on the deck and look straight ahead! The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is 30 miles northwest. Leelanau County and Benzie County also a stone's throw away. Remodeled, completely winterized 2-bedroom cottage with an open-air design. All the amenities are here for a relaxing stay. A fully equipped kitchen (no dishwasher). One bathroom with endless hot water. Washer/dryer on site. Lots of linens and towels provided. Fast Internet. Cable TV. Boone's Long Lake Inn is less than a mile away ~ a local favorite for dining and music. The original Moomer's Ice Cream Shoppe is 3 miles from the cottage (on the way to Sleeping Bear Dunes). Timber Shores (dog friendly) is just past Moomers ~ a great hike that goes by Fern Lake and Long Lake. Both lakes have sandy bottoms, very quiet and perfect for swimming! We want your four-legged friends to enjoy a vacation as well; therefore, pets are always welcome. The cottage sits on a quiet, dog-friendly lane. There is a fenced-in area right next to the cottage for your pet's business. If you need dog care, my neighbor across the lane has a huge fenced-in back yard and she is also available to come to the Cottage to do the evening feeding so you don't have to rush home. I can give you her phone number, if interested. Her charge is very affordable. Beautiful sunsets most every night. The deck overlooking the lake has a dining table and plenty of seating. There is a new two-burner Infrared gas grill on the deck. The fire pit area down at the beach is great for S'mores or whatever. We provide a bundle of firewood. Three kayaks are available; the green one is a fishing kayak, a red 'Loon' and a sit on top kayak. Fishing poles are provided. The dock can also be a great place to fish. You are sure to catch a Bass or a Blue Gill. The lake is shallow and clear; but not great for swimming. The Blue Heron has been showing up most mornings. When winter comes, snowshoe (one pair is available) or X-Country ski on and around the lake. Lots of adjacent trails also! Detailed maps of nearby bike, walking trails, swimming lakes and beaches; along with winery/brewery brochures, and things to do are available at the cottage. Two bikes are available for your use; as is the two-car garage. Smoking outside, please. Thanks! Relax! Put Your Feet Up! You're Up North!

5/5 Excellent

Secluded get away close to everything!

Joni's cottage is a wonderful escape from the hectic city life. As everyone says, the view west across the tiny private lake is perfect. We hiked in Sleeping Bear Dunes National park, strolled Front Street in Traverse City and highly recommend the shops at the Village Commons, a converted former state hospital campus. And if you like to site see by car, no shortage of nice drives. Joni is a great resource for your stay. We will be back!

      Peaceful Retreat

Great location, very quiet, and the home is thoughtfully appointed. The owner is so accommodating with pets! Our little dog felt right at home. It's also only about 10 or 15 minutes to Traverse City, so very convenient when you need the "city." Thanks for great experience!

      4/5 Good

        Cozy cottage

We enjoyed our stay at the cozy cottage, it is a small house but it’s has everything that you need. Best part was the backyard with private lake and it was beautiful especially during sunset very beautiful and relaxing. The only thing that i didn’t like to be honest was the living room with very old sofa and 3 old reclaimers that were in poor condition that I felt uncomfortable for my kids to sit, overall the house was good . It’s close to the city and not that far from sleeping bear park , I recommend this house to other guests if they want away from city and just to relax by lake. My husband and the kids liked it and want to come back next year.

          Quiet getaway close to TC

Very comfortable cottage on a quiet lake. Beautiful sunsets, calm mornings, and dark nights. 10 minute drive into town for restaurants and bars. Joni is a great host!! Highly recommended.

          5/5 Excellent

Perfect Location for just about everything!

Sunsets were beautiful. Place was clean and tidy. Lake is small and had no motor boating on it so we were able to paddle board without any issues. My wife Kayaked on one of the three provided kayaks. We were able to bike, do a wine tour, and paddle board and kayak, while enjoying the sunsets and campfire every evening. Joni was a great host! Dog friendly and the lady across the street will dog sit for you if you are out all day as well. Located within a half an hour of everything we wanted to do!
