- Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
We were staying here for 2 nights with our little girls so we could take them to Alton towers. After driving for over 4 hours we arrived at the hotel to check in. Check in was quick and easy and we went up to our room. Upon entering the room I noticed a cot hadn't been put in the room, which I requested. I went back downstairs to explain to tell me a cot couldn't be put up due to health and safety as the sofa bed was made up. There was no way my baby could sleep in a sofa bed with her sister and they should not have sold the room if it exceeded maximum occupancy. The member of staff said he would bring a cot to the room but would not put it up. 10 minutes later a cot arrived and I proceeded to put it up only to find the cot was broken and the mattress didn't fit! I now rung the reception and explained the situation. A while later the same member of staff brought another cot up and said he had checked it but the only problem with it was it was wobbly! This was just going from bad to worse. As this was the only cot they had left I wedged it between the sofa bed and main bed. They need to rethink their occupancies of rooms. On a plus note the main bed was comfortable. Breakfast was OK but not much choice. Overall a disappointing stay.
